I really struggled with this week prompt from Amy Johnson Crow on her 52 Ancestors series.
The question is if I could sit down to dinner with any of my ancestors who would I pick? Who would I pick? I have actually mused on this all week. To be honest, I would have them all come, cameras and recorders set up all over the place! Could you imagine?
Or if I could be in attendance at a family gathering, just sit back and take it all in.
Maybe a bit of a cop-out but if I could I would want it all!
I don’t even have a photo of my gggrandmother, Ann Whyte, who I would like to meet and learn more about her life. By my calculations she dies around 38 years of age. Perhaps shortly after the birth of her last child.
I can understand the lack of pictures. Some of my lines are sadly lacking. There was a fire when my mother was a child and they lost everything. I was able to track down some pictures through her cousins and other relatives, it is sparse but I was thrilled to get what I did. Maybe you will find something out there.
